The members of the Racine Curling Club love the sport of curling and enjoy introducing new people to it. Come join us at an upcoming Learn-2-Curl to learn more about the exciting sport of curling.
We will begin with a brief overview of the history and rules of the game. Participants will then move out onto the ice and have hands-on instruction on the different positions. You will begin by learning how to slide out and deliver the stone. If you have any physical limitations that would prevent you from performing the typical slide-delivery, don't worry. Just let us know and we can show you the alternative "stick" delivery.
You will then be taught why players sweep the ice in front of the stones and learn the proper technique to do so. The two will be put to practice together as we play an "end" or two as time allows. ("Ends" are curling's equivalent to rounds or innings in a game.)
Time and space are limited but we hope to allow everyone who comes out to get a good sense of what curling is all about. So come join us at the upcoming Learn-2-Curl!
